2008 November > Meals on Wheels

In recognition of Meals on Wheels week, Durham Regional Police officers joined Community Care Durham (CCD) volunteers with their deliveries on October 8. CCD’s Meals on Wheels service provides nutritious meals to over 6800 of our most vulnerable citizens who have difficulty preparing their own meals due to aging and/or physical disability. CCD was established in 1977 and is a multi-service registered charitable organization that provides Home Support, Respite and COPE Mental Health services for adults and their caregivers who have needs related to physical disability, aging and/or mental health. The service relies heavily on the support of volunteers who are dedicated to helping those in need maintain their independence at home.
