2008 November > Shinerama Fall Classic

Participants teed off in support of Cystic Fibrosis last month as part of the annual Shinerama campaign run by students at Durham College/UOIT (the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.) The Fall Classic golf tournament was held as an extension to the Shinerama campaign that kicked off the beginning of the school year at the Oshawa Campus. Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary school fundraiser, involving students at approximately 60 universities and colleges. The campaign, which began in 1964, has raised almost $17.5 million to help fund Cystic Fibrosis research and treatment programs. Through their Orientation Week initiatives Durham College and UOIT students have already raised over $5, 000 and are looking to add another $2, 000 to reach their 2008 goal.
