2008 November > Remembering the Horse Guard Members of the Ontario Regiment’s Officer’s Mess were presented with a pictorial book of a trip back to World War II battlefields and cemeteries in Italy recently. The book chronicles a trip by former Governor General’s Horse Guard (GGHG) members in May 2008 that included L.Col. David Friesen, L.Col. Jeffrey Dorfman (ret’d), Major David Mezzebotta (ret’d) and Sergeant Paul Scherer (ret’d), who were members of the GGHG. While there they paid respect to members of the Ontario Regiment buried alongside our fallen and remember their sacrifice through the many photographs within the book. The book was presented to Captain Bob Brown of the Ontario Regiment and will be proudly on display in the Officer’s Mess at Colonel RS McLaughlin Armoury, 53 Simcoe Street North.
