Pink Stick Game
During a hockey tournament at the Legends Centre in November, the Clarington Hurricanes, part of the Durham Crusaders, wrapped their sticks in pink tape and dedicated their game to someone who has survived, is fighting, or has lost their battle with cancer. Initiated by 12 year old team member Joshua Lambersky, who lost his grandmother to cancer and whose mother is a survivor, Josh wanted to do something to bring awareness to those that are suffering for this tragic disease. Each player also wrote the name or names of loved ones that they have or are fighting cancer.
