Gift-Wrap a Home for a Cause
Just a few days before Christmas, first-time homeowner John Cannito unwrapped the largest gift ever from RE/MAX Realtor, Stuart Smith of RE/MAX Jazz Inc. The larger-than-life-size parcel, a backsplit bungalow purchased by Cannito, had a closing date so close to Christmas that Smith decided to theme the event! “This event, first and foremost, is an opportunity to help a vital cause—the Pregnancy Help Centre of Durham,” says Smith. “The charity counsels and assists pregnant women in need and provides access to vital resources both during and after birth. The timing is very deliberate, as the demand for services has increased.” Event participants, neighbours and spectators were all encouraged to donate formula, diapers, clothing and/or toys, which will be distributed to low-income families through the Pregnancy Help Centre.
