Santa Lives
This year Santa and his elves at Father Leo J. Austin Catholic High School in Whitby helped to provide a truly Christmas experience to many families and children. Students and teachers at the school sponsored one family per class. As part of their ongoing tradition, their generous donations of toys, food and clothing are delivered in Santa’s sleigh. Teacher Lisa Ricciuto says that ‘the students and staff at the school really get into the spirit of the event. Some classrooms were so full goodies that you could not help but be full of the Christmas spirit; we are all very proud of what the students accomplished’. Oshawa Community Health Centre helps Fr. Leo with the distribution as many of the families participating in the health centre programs are not able to provide their children with a Christmas experience that many of us are accustomed to.
