Centre for Success Graduation
It was a day of celebration when Durham College recently hosted the official graduation ceremony of students from their unique Centre for Success program. Operated by the college, the program helps decrease secondary school dropout rates by engaging students in a college environment and demonstrating the many pathways to post-secondary education. This year’s event marks the fourth successful year of the educational initiative, which began as a pilot project at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate in Ajax, Ontario in 2006. By completing the program, most of this year’s students will have fulfilled their Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements and successfully completed one college course.
