C Wing Opening
As part of a $91.5 million redevelopment project at Lakeridge Health Oshawa being managed by Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the C-Wing officially opened the Medicine (7th floor) and Dialysis (8th floor) Units last month. The Outpatient Dialysis Unit is home to four units of 10 hemodialysis stations, each with its own TV for patients to enjoy during their frequent and lengthy treatments. The 32-bed Inpatient Medicine Unit features ceiling lifts in every patient care room, as well as large, bright and wheelchair-accessible rooms and washrooms.
Once construction is fully completed in early 2011, the C-Wing will also include pediatrics, rehabilitation and child, adolescent and adult mental health services.
