Pokemon Championship Party

For more than 10 years, kids all over the world have been discovering the enchanting world of Pokemon. Last month, Skyfox Games hosted a celebration party for Jacob Lesage, the first time Canadian Pokemon World Champion. The tournament, which was held in Kona Hawaii in August, was also attended by Durham's 2010 Pokemon Regional and Provincial Champions. Nationally ranked players from almost every continent on the planet, took part in the final competitions, including countries such as Japan (home of Pokemon), the United States, Norway, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Singapore and Sweden. Canada was represented by 30 qualifiers with 4 from the Durham Region. Prizes include free trips, scholarships and more. Skyfox supports both non-competitive and competitive play through leagues and tournaments. Pokemon leagues are played in a casual setting, and league members are rewarded for playing games - win or lose.
